Once farmland is developed, we don't simply get it back.
If you know someone who thinks the municipal election doesn't matter, please send them this video.
The decisions made locally help shape what Wilmot will look like for decades.
They affect where we grow, what happens to our farmland, how we plan development, and how seriously we protect the groundwater we all depend on.
Once farmland is developed, we don't simply get it back.
And we cannot wait until there is a problem with our water to decide it was worth protecting.
That is why this election matters.
Please vote — but also take five minutes today to call or message your family, friends and neighbours.
Ask them if they have voted.
Talk to them about the farmland and water around us. Encourage them to learn where the candidates stand and to make their own informed choice.
If you have an older parent, grandparent or neighbour who is confused by the voting process or didn't receive their voter information, check in with them. Sometimes a little help is all someone needs to make sure their voice is heard.
We may not get another opportunity to make some of these decisions.
Our farmland matters.
Our water matters.
And your municipal vote matters.
